      Tinnitus Since:
      early 1970's
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Uncertain
I was constantly exposed to higher than normal db during my USN Service (8 to 10 mechanical teletypes up to 12 hours a day in room with no acoustical insulation) for weeks/month/years. My tinnitus did not manifest itself for around 9 years after I was discharged. VA is denying my tinnitus claim based on the time between discharge and onset.

Is there definitive research clarifying the timeline for tinnitus onset between exposure and onset?

      Thank you

There is research that proves tinnitus is connected to hearing loss
      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4208401/

and individual cases from this forum where people had high frequency hearing loss all their lives
underwent stressful situtations, or took certain medicine and it gave them permanent tinnitus.

Let me see if I can find the threads.

Don't let them bullshit around and tell you science doesn't know enough about tinnitus to say the tinnitus and loud noise exposure were not related. The VA is filled with hacks
