Tinnitus Spiked While Walking Beside the Street Wearing Earmuffs

hello everyone,

everyday I take a long walk at the park and I bring my earmuff whenever there's too much noise and when I across the street. But today my tinnitus spiked while walking near the street and wearing my muff and the fire truck passing by. my high pitch tinnitus is getting loud now and it's so annoying.

will my spike settle down? or might it be permanent?
has anyone experienced something like this?

At times the fear of a sound, noise can cause a spike, more than the actual sound. We can never know what tinnitus will do. I can tell you that keeping that fear, remaining stressed and re-living that moment, can keep a spike going.
