      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Perforated eardrum
I have tinnitus in left ear since a little more than a month due to ear drum hole(left ear) and hearing loss.

Today I had 4th hearing test and my left hearing is completely recovered.

From 3days or so I felt like I was hearing tinnitus in my right ear. I thought probably I was overthinking /maybe it could spread? / maybe I feel like am hearing in both ears cuz am hearing in left... but right ear I felt I am hearing T but very less compared to left.

Today doctor said he noticed something interesting that my right ear hearing is down a bit but is in normal range. Probably that is the reason my new T sound in right ear? CAN having flu for a week affect hearing a bit?

He said at this point of time as ENT all I can say is your ear drum hole is closed and hearing is normal I am sorry I don't have a magic pill for Tinnitus. :( He transferred me to lifestylehearing/audiology department told they would help me to deal with ways to handle Tinnitus and do more intense hearing tests.

I busted in tears at doctors office when he said that was it from his end.

Not sure why would I still have Tinnitus when my ear drum hole is closed and hearing is all normal.
On top of that why would it start in right ear I have no idea.

you might have a hidden hearing loss..

have you had an extended audiogram?

i wonder if you could arrange a tympanogram, which would establish if you have a middle ear effusion?

were you treated with antibiotics or other meds? if so, which ones?

      no

I have a follow up with Lifestyle hearing doctor mentioned they would do intense hearing test to find the cause of tinnitus.

I was treated with Prednisone for 2 weeks. Then my hearing improved and hole was diminishing so doctor said he would leave it to recover naturally. Today after 3weeks I had another appointment he mentioned the hole is completely closed and just a little scratch like scar and would heal by itself. Hearing test came normal. Previously it was in moderate hearing loss then mild zone now in normal hearing zone. There was no infection that is the reason why they did not give any antibiotics.

I should mention when I first felt hearing blocked because of Q tip.. I felt my hearing was blocked for 2-3days then
I went to urgent care and urgent care people poured hydrogen peroxide to clear ear wax thats when my Tinnitus started. The moment they poured hydrogen peroxide the ringing started and immediately I couldnt bear and I joined ER. Then I was referred to this specialist and he was seeing my case since 5weeks. Hole is closed hearing is normal but T is still there.

I asked doctor if hydrogen peroxide did the damage because the moment it was poured thats when ringing started. He said that wouldn't affect inner ear even if the perforation was there when they poured. I was concerned very much because it burned until neck when they poured hydrogen peroxide. I started screaming and crying in pain as I could feel the acid like gushing feeling in my viens until neck and it subsided after few minuted but T which triggered then never did :(
