I've just figured out that I have a mild amount of eustachian tube dysfunction and it is causing a very loud clicking sound in the ears.
Normally I wouldn't care, except that this loud noise is setting off my otic migraines because the noise is so loud. Does anyone have ideas for effective, easy-to-do treatments?

      Thanks for the help!

      Hi Lauren,

My etd started just over a year ago. I tried nasonex, avamys, nasal rinses, ear popper and steaming. None of these seemed to help.

I tried plantago which is supposed to reduce inflammation and mucous in the ears. After taking this three times a day for four days I can now go for hours without having the clicking sound. I'm going to keep taking it too see if it can make it go away completely. Also, my ears have started popping when chewing gum which they never used to.
