      In the course of my research about safe ways to improve inhibitory brain chemistry, I found this article that explains the process of neuronal excitotoxicity and how several things influence it.

      One very interesting thing is that it explains how the amount of mitochondrial energy (ATP) influences this process, as ATP is used to "clean" excess glutamate and sweep it out of synaptic spaces. That explains the mechanism of action for CoQ10 and niacin for those that are helped by them. I hope you find this useful:
