I see one research company (can’t remember it off the top of my head as the past few weeks are a bit of a blur, dipping my feet into every tinnitus recovery pool) is interested in personalizing tinnitus as a form of therapy, similar to phantom limb syndrome in PTSD patients.

Further, I find that my tinnitus is basically a complete non-factor the more I’m engrossed in things that require my full attention and that I actually enjoy—weightlifting, certain board/social games; it is however far more present during intense concentration on relatively aversive things (intensive research on non-hobby related topics, reading for school, etc.) I’m becoming more interested in virtual reality for the sheer entertainment of it and the more I can supplant my misery with enjoyable distractions, the better.

Does anyone find that their tinnitus is improved or eradicated through gameplay in VR?

If these experimental devices (LLLT, possibly Lenire) don’t make meaningful contributions to my prognosis I’d rather just be constantly distracted with something enjoyable and drug myself to get to sleep to ensure some modicum of a “normal life”.

I feel very similar to you. It's much easier to cope with my Tinnitus, when playing games and maybe listening to silent music. I haven't tried VR just yet, because I don't need it yet. But, 2020 year will definitely bring some new great entertainment technology that would help me in coping with even the worst kinds of Tinnitus.

CBD Oil, alcohol, certain medications, supplements, foods.. There are many things that can go along with sleeping and gaming. If I could only stop going to work for a few years, it would be fantastic.

Might just be enough to habituate!

Yes man since Day 0 I'm playing CS GO all the time and vaping herbs.

When really in the game it's easier to tune it out. So I'm doing my own therapy waiting for Lenire.

Makes me miss the plant... the spikes just aren’t worth it in trying to habituate.

      What’s CS GO?

I’m mostly familiar with Oculus stuff.
