      Hi Guys,

Since yesterday some water has been stuck in my right ear and it will not go away. I tried drying it out gently, and very carefully using a q-tip to dry up the moisture.

I also put some olive oil drops, let them sink for a while and bend my head on the other side so the liquid would come out.

However, only half of the oil came out of the ear and some of it is now stuck with the water as well. I need to point that I have some earwax build and it might be the reason why water will not come out and just stick in the ear. Once I tilt my head, I can feel the liquid moving.

Can someone share their experience? I am afraid of an ear infection and makingn my tinnitus worse.

Tilt your head! The rest will dry out on its own.

@Brian P, I tried that but it seems the liquid stops at some point and it will not go further. I assume it is the ear wax that is causing the issue.

You could buy an otoscope and find out what's going on.

I think I am going to ENT tomorrow in order to get checked. Just to be on the safe side.

Please, absolutely refuse if your ENT will try to remove your earwax with microsuction or syringing. The best option is manual cleaning.

@Farida, I would definitely opt to have the earwax removed via curette.

It's counter-intuitive, but putting MORE water in can often help those stubborn drops make their way free. Kinda like how single drops of water can stick to a window but a few drops combined will roll right down the glass.

The water should dry out, putting more stuff in may have prolonged your case...?
