You're right about the writing. It's kind of refreshing to have something other than Family Guy and American Dad. It's just Seth's recycled formula over and over.

 

Exactly, I love family guy and American dad but yes it can feel like your watching something recycled over and over.
Rick and Morty is refreshing as well in that manner...

 

@Jcb I'll try to find a spot to watch Rick and Morty. I keep hearing about it, but haven't caved yet.

 

Bojack Horseman & Neon Genesis Evangelion are the greatest animated works of art in recorded history.

Very different in presentation but both hit on a lot of similar, very real, very human themes.

 

It’s worth it, it’s again very out there but in a good way. It’s well written as well in my opinion.

 

So are any other anime fans getting super excited for Full Metal Panic!? I am!

Debating whether I have time to watch the first 3 seasons before or not. Normally I do a rewatch.

I could be looking for anime in the wrong places. Netflix has very few. Hulu has a lot but none of them interest me. Finally found some on prime video which piqued my interest so I will give these a shot.

 

Family guy used to be great, the new episodes not so much.

 

Can you access Crunchyroll? I'm surprised about Hulu, I thought they were partnered up with Crunchyroll.

 

Hulu really does have A LOT. But weirdly the selection just does not appeal. Crunchyroll needs a premium sub for streaming. Maybe eventually I will just quit hulu.
But damn does Hulu have a great western animation selection. I'd hate losing access to Futurama, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, etc.

 

Bummer. So did Crunchyroll get rid of the feature to watch for free with commercials?

 

You can...on the computer. I do not like watching TV this way.

 

I dont remember watching much anime but lately I decided to watch naruto till the end since I remember watching some of the early episodes as a kid. Must say I liked it alot

 

I use to watch that one a lot, but got lost in fillers and quit.

 

This show just started airing this season and episode 1 was superb. The writing and character interactions were excellent. The art style is made to be reminiscent of an 80s/90s anime and it looks amazing in motion. It's worth a watch if any of that sounds appealing.

Cool! This looks like my type of anime.

 

I kind of miss those old drawn cartoons. Feels like the fading and overall style can't be replicated by newer animation.

 

I really miss it too. The new stuff mostly feels soulless and cold. The Charlie Brown movie recently done kind of worked on that, but for the most part I miss the warmth and feel of hand drawn.

 

I've got the whole manga collection of Berserk presently released in English. Too bad Kentaro Miura likes to go on hiatus so much. I really want a conclusion to the story. Also, the anime adaptions were a big let down. Stuff like Hellsing, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, etc. also always gets my blood pumping.

When it comes to anime I also like really sappy stuff. Recently, I checked out Violet Evergarden on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised. Even shed a tear or two, which I hadn't done with anything regarding anime since Clannad: After Story.

The last anime I watched was Made in Abyss, which came widely recommended by a lot of people on MAL. Now I'm passing on the recommendation to anyone on here. Watch it, it's worth it!

 

I'm enjoying Archer. I've been watching it since it started and it's still fun.

 

I keep buying up Beserk, but I'm way behind reading them. I hate getting caught up only to have a HUGE wait.

I keep hearing about Made in Abyss. I'll have to bump it up on my list. I noticed all the hype it got on MAL as well.

 

It's a really good show. Just know it has questionable content in it. I marathoned it in 1 day it was so good, which I never do because I can't stand spending so much time in a row watching a show. Story & music are crazy good.

loved Clone high still have the season on dvd too bad it was short but unlike a lot of cartoon it did not outstayed its welcome looking at you the simpsons, familly guy and maybe south park (the last game is pretty fun)

 

Woah awesome, I hadn't picked up on there being a new season. That's been a long time coming. Immediately going to start rewatching the first seasons (it's been a decade probably) and by the time I'm through, hopefully the new season will be finished. I'm the same, I hate being left hanging and like to watch things from start to finish in one fell swoop.

 

Yeah. I'm in the second season now for my rewatch. Decided to wait for the new season to be done. Don't want another The Ancient Magus' Bride wait.

 

tfw a perfectly good show was cancelled because of a couple triggered Gandhi supporters.
