What Happens After Someone Suicides or Dies?

So, my question is what do people think happens ? Also is there any studies or good evidence that gives hints what happens?

I know a university in Virginia has done 1000+ case studies on reincarnation, and it done by medical branch of the university.

Just curious is all.

I mean...like you said there are tons of Theories. And I Do wish that there was an afterlife with all the people I love so much. It is hard to believe that there comes nothing afterwards, people are scared of that. and thats how churches sell themselves to people and say they have answers for it. which they dont.

While I can appreciate everyone going to the default of we don't know so there for nothing, I think this isn't studied enough to say that, just as one can't really say something without evidence either.

I can see life happened here. So who is to say that can't happen again in some form or another? There are case studies that hint it does happen too, at the university I mentioned. Is it 100% proof? No. But it definetly needs to be studied more.

Does anyone know of any other studies on this?

In every thread you open on TT you are lookin for the "OK" to kill yourself, based on some internet posts.
In your other thread you asked for advice, people took their time and posted you super long answers and you dont even read them. Even if these answers came from people who where in your shoes (people of your age with T& hearing loss, hearing aids) But you chose to ignore it and just went on opening more threads.

This is your second thread about suicide within a week (The last one was "how many people on TT commited suicide) or so and you made it pretty clear that you dont even have debilitating tinnitus and some medium hearing loss.

seeing your senseless posts make me even more mad because a TT user with a debilitating T and a condition which made her bedridden (sadly a real reason wanting to die, unlike you) probably left this world the last days (I hope not).

If there is anything after death, well that is unknown. How could we know?

I'm getting tired of seeing these suicide threads now,seriously Jdjd give it a rest.Im borderline right now and seeing this shit pop up everyday is not good for my or anyone's self esteem.

Sorry you're having issues, but I'm asking out of curiosity. It's a legit question and I'm sorry the question bothers you, I would recommend ignoring the thread.

 

There is no evidence for any afterlife/reincarnation/etc. therefore the most likely conclusion is nothing. The burden of proof would lie on any claims to there being an afterlife.

I wish reincarnation were true, if it was I would be tempted to roll the dice myself, but I am certain it is not. This is the only shot we got. I was dealt a pretty shitty hand in life too, not just tinnitus, but a lot of other things that have had a permanent effect on my quality of life.

 

There is no reason to put suicide in the title of this thread.

 

Actually, in this case, the burdon of proof lies in anyone saying any claim really. I would arge even those say "nothing", because really that is a theory of something in this case. Stating you cease to be consciously is a claim that is not nothing. I think people on both sides are a little too accepting of there own answers or conclusions without any serious study I can think of in the subject.

Bu, then again, I may be missing some studies I'm not aware of.

 

I'm listing one of the ways. Yes dieing covers suicides , car accidents, etc.. I just chose to include the world to put emphasis on it. Maybe there was a study or research done specifically on that type of death.

 

There's a movie called "Heaven Is For Real" about a kid who dies for a time then comes back and tells his dad stuff he couldn't of known. A popular overnight radio program called "Coast to Coast am" has had people on from time to time claiming to have remembered past lives. A neurosurgeon wrote a book about dying and having an afterlife experience. Mediums claim they can talk to the dead and they can be scary accurate in some of their readings every now and then. All these are easy victims of nay say because there's no proof to back it up. I would probably take the chance if I knew for sure because this life of noise is crap. LOUD NOISE! My T measures at about 70db on a bad day.

 

I want to tattoo in two sentences, not sure if I will do it since I have no idea where and if it will happen.

"Memento Mori" - Remember that you will die / that you are deadly / remember your mortality
"Memento Viviere" - Remember to live

I wanted intially to have the first one only, to remember my own mortality or rather, vulnerability (since onset of T and all that comes with it).
Then I saw some where, "Memento Viviere" and I realized that before you die, you have to live. So we should remember that we are deadly, not immune to being harmed, but we cannot let that take over, we still need to live and be alive before death eventually takes us (of old age!)

 

@Fangen why viviere? shouldt it be "vivere" ? thats the infinitiv. and the direct translation of "memento vivere" means "I remember to live". Sorry lol but I have just seen to many people tatooing wrong grammar on their bodies I am not too sure either, just wanted to make sure if you know ?

 

I think I mispelled Vivere is correct
I don't know really, that is what I have seen everywhere so I would assume it is correct but you never know
But the overall message is to remember to live, I think "I remember to live" works for me too! Not saying that I am going through the tattoo, since it took me like 5 years between my second one to my third one that I did last summer.

Why is everyone so intent on staying alive after dying.
I mean, I'm a Bee Gees fan and all but after 90 I suppose I'll be glad to be checking out, unless I get to inherit Hugh Hefner's mansion or something.

 

Think about eternal life. To start, we are not able to understand the concept of eternal.
What will you do al the time? Some people are already bored in this finite life. The idea of eternal is infernal.

In my opinion life is a test. There are many hurdles you have to overcome. If you commit suicide, you fail that test.

There are many people with horrible afflictions in life. Yet they still go on.

If someone kills themself, they throw away a gift called life. Where they end up I don't know.

Hell, heaven, nothing. All i know is , I want to make sure I have done some good in my life before i go. Cause there is no turning back.

 

Is there any general scientific studies on reincarnation or what come s next. I know university of Virginia has a department dedicated on the study or reincarnation , and have lots of cases that provide evidence of for reincarnation for some people. Even a famous scientist stated the evidence from that college is so vast that hard to not take it as random advance and seemed to believe what the studies are showing.

I do not know what will happen but I hope we will go to somewhere without any tinnitus cases.
