Hello! I would like to read what each of you does to relax every day. all cases are different and therefore all of you must do different things to achieve it in your specific case. Maybe something that is said here can help the rest (y)
I know, it is a battle day by day, and it would be nice to share what makes us good

      In my particular case:
*I like to listen to music without headphones (sometimes vaporwave, metal, depends on the day)
*the noise of fluorescent tubes (this is a very particular one)
      *the noise of the refrigerator

This live youtube music channel is a godsend -
lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to

"lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to" - Very relaxing to listen to.

Also going for walks outside, feeding the stray cats where I live, playing video games.

Marijuana, spending time/playing with my pitbull (dogs are so goofy and loving, they're truly man's best friend), sex, reading, hanging out with friends, exercise, working on cars, cooking, good TV shows ("Homeland" is my current favorite), and video games (COD, Forza, and GTA 5) are my jam for keeping the stress levels down...

possible TMJ, came on after severe cold and chest infection,
I used to love reading but since I got this it’s one thing I can’t do as I need to be in silence.... I’m not at that place yet where that’s possible without me zoning in on my T and driving myself crazy.
The only thing so far that kind of relaxes me is a nice long walk, recently started to listen to music again on my Bluetooth speakers prefer 90s rnb and old school dance.
Will try going the gym as well again soon and see if that helps as well.
Also recently started making the “whoopi” with my partner again which helps.....

like AZeurotuner and you, i particularly like to play video games, only with low volume (that makes me impossible to play CS GO, for example) the immersive feeling of video games is one of the most relaxing things

In the early morning driving to my gym the road is along the coastline for a few miles. I love watching the people walking their dogs. Some dogs are so excited and wagging their tails looking at the other dogs passing by them. Some dogs are still waking up and walking slower. Always makes me smile inside.

Sometimes there will be pods of dolphins surfing the waves. One in a while a whale sighting.

At night I turn off the computer and cell phone at 7:00 pm. No brain activity from these devices. Spend time with my husband. Watch TV. Read. This relaxes me so I can usually go to sleep easier with the blaring screeching noise in my brain.

I listen to my music therapy and guided meditation with my bose headset to offset any outside clamoring
      interference.

If I haven't smoked in awhile then the spikes can be pretty intense the first few times. But after my tolerance goes up a bit the spikes aren't nearly as bad; small, temporarily increases don't really bother me. I get the similar spikes after lifting weights, they usually die down after a few hours.

Nothing. Being unable to genuinely relax with this thing is a huge problem. I can distract myself, sure, and it works for a short while. But at the end of the day, relaxation isn't something I can do anymore.

I notice an increase with any method, especially wax and clear, the stronger the product the worst the spike for me, although with increased tolerance comes lower spikes. I'm ok with it though, I would much rather smoke than drink.

Same here but I quit when I got T, it's just no fun anymore ...
Sometimes I even think maybe smoking weed all this years contributed to getting T as well.
Dutch weed is pretty damn strong ...

I wouldn't think it's the weed, probably more to do with how much noise us younger folks subjected ourselves to, we're the "ear bud generation". Many of us started our hearing abuse at a very young age, then added loud bars and clubs to the equation later on. I know some older cats who have been toking their entire lives that don't have T. Try it for a few weeks Chris, I think you will get used to the spikes, I did eventually.

I think you're right, even though my audiogram did not show any (detectable) hearing loss I have been blasting my iPod and Mp3 players for many years when I was a teenager and even as an adolescent. Even though I did not visit clubs every weekend over the years I have frequented them quite often, never protecting my ears. Throw in a bout of labyrinthitis 12 months ago and consistently working with a headset on making calls and I think you'll get a recipe for tinnitus, top it off with high levels of stress, smoking, alcohol and too little sleep and bingo I guess ...

Nothing I can do now, better get on with it and aim for habituation.

Not sure if I'll be trying the weed anytime soon again though, maybe once I habituated more but I'm pretty sure I'll get a massive anxiety attack when I try to smoke any now. Friend of mine also has tinnitus and he still smokes though, he just does not smoke as strong a joint as he used to and mainly hash. He also still goes to clubs without any hearing protection so I don't think he is as paranoid about it as I am (sure hope he won't come to regret that). Also I'm taking Xanax now which I'll need to taper the coming months, not sure weed is good to throw in that mix.
