      I swear tinnitus hates me. Just when I thought I was cured of tinnitus, BAM. It came back louder than ever and oh boy does it want attention :(
      I don't know why this is happening to me, I just want a good peaceful normal life...No one in my grade knows or has this, except for a few seconds.
      It's up to the point where I will literally trade my ability to speak to get tinnitus free ears. I've had many setbacks in my life, but none as bad as tinnitus.
      I thought it was a cold that caused my tinnitus, but its been nearly 5 weeks and I still have tinnitus. I think it's here to stay.......I don't even know what silence sounds like anymore...

      Hi Mayo,
      How is your stress level at the moment as it can spike your tinnitus if you know what is causing it ?
      Its a vicious circle as tinnitus can cause stress too.

      You sound like you are still in school, can you talk with any of the teachers about it, some of them may have it.
      But hang on in there 5 weeks is very new and it can definately still go, but do protect your ears from loud noise, dont go to any gigs or anything . Let them recover slowly just have quiet nice sounds around, get plenty of sleep, exercise, drink plenty of water and good food.
      Have you seen the doctor to see if you have an ear infection?

      @carlover,

      You're one tough dude! I've been struggling with deafness and high pitched T in one ear, for 18 months and can't take much more of this BS! How in the Hell do you cope with it, for 29 years?

      Thanks Glynis. No, I'm trying not to get stressed, but now that school's started again, I'm hearing less and less. It's still there loud and strong, but my school's too loud, even louder than my tinnitus!
      It's just at home. Sleeping and doing work is a nightmare now.

      One thing though, my dentist was gonna give me braces. He asked me if I had ringing in my ears. I instinctively said no, because I knew he was referring to TMJ (There was a leaflet telling about it) and he was asking me if I had clicking noises. My tinnitus is almost definetly caused by a cold, so I doubt he can help.
      Should I tell him that I have loud ringing in my ears next time?

      My god that's a long time. Living with tinnitus for 30 years......Just thinking of that makes me wanna end life now :(
      I really hope it gets better for you. Here's me, freaking out when I've just had Tinnitus for 5 months. Heck, there's every bit of chance that Tinnitus will go away after my first year. That thread of hope is what really keeps me going sane.
