Woke Up with a Weird Thump in My Ear

      I woke up this morning and I'm feeling and hearing a thump in my ear every 1 min or so. Also if i pull down slightly on my ear it stops

      Hope your thumping has calmed down.
      I think it's just a muscle triggering vibration in your middle ear that connects your tiny ear bones.
      It should settle down...lots of love glynis

      its gotten a little better since this morning still there but i think if i just do some exercise and some sleep it will be better tommorow

      No one seems to be lookin at this thread, im getting real nervous and its preventing me from sleep

      Explosion starting engine
      Sometimes I have a similar experience. It did go away and I only feel/hear it seldom.

      Well woke up this morning and it is still there how long does this normally last for?

      It could be your stapes or your tensor tympani muscle going into spasm. I had a problem like this last year. Lasted 3 months. Some of the spasms lasted 9 hours. I worked out that was around 6000 seperate thuds. Impossible to sleep with. Now I havd regular clicking rather than thudding (although that comes and goes). No idea how long this will last. Have to heavily sedate myself to get sleep. Some say cyclobenzaprine helps though I haven't tried it. In extreme cases a surgeon can cut the muscles.
