      Incredible!

Just seen an advert by Action on Hearing Loss about tinnitus on Sky! Appeal for funding via text for a cure.

      Brilliant stuff.

Is it a new one or a rerun of this one?

I agree, Allan. I’m surprised you’ve never seen that advert before. It’s been used in the UK for at least a couple of years on and off.

Do people have confidence in Action on Hearing Loss that it can bring us closer to a cure?

They'll certainly try. AOHL are an organisation that deserves our support.

Okay. I don’t know much about this organization, will have to google some more.

Ed said they have been using that ad for a couple of years now, so wondering if they’ve got some results already...

They definitely talk the talk about doing biomedical research on tinnitus but what they have in terms of end product seems a bit more limited - hopefully they'll be able to produce some examples of biomedical research projects into tinnitus and how they have actually made a difference.

More confidence than in the BTA.

Unlike BTA, AoHL has supported research outside of Great Britain, which I take that as a good sign. I wonder if AoHL grants are small because there are multiple grants listed that supported this study by Amanda Lauer in the US -

Behavioral Animal Model of the Emotional Response to Tinnitus and Hearing Loss
Amanda M. Lauer,Gail Larkin, Aikeen Jones, and Bradford J. May

Supported by grants from the Tinnitus Research Consortium, Action on Hearing Loss, National Institutes of Health grant DC005211, a gift from Liquing Zeng, and the David M. Rubenstein Fund for Hearing Research. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the funding agencies.

Awesome that they do TV adverts.
