- Cause of Tinnitus:
- Gun report
My Tinnitus has been with me since I can't recall, but it was not really affecting me until about two years ago after a hunting trip during which I was caught off-guard with no hearing protection when a co-hunter fired a number of shots form his 338 caliber rifle fitted with a muzzle brake that directs a portion of the blast/sound in such a fashion that it is very loud. Now my tinitus has reached a point that it is affecting my life, my happiness and state of mind. I often awake in the wee hours of the night with such loud ringing that I slip into a severe anxiety attack. Just knowing that only death can end the ringing is overwhelming at times. I have been checked out by an ENT, but that was no help. He just recommended hearing aids and entering into Cognitive Therapy.Interact
