Referral acquired! :D Doc was super nice and took everything I told them seriously, which is a huge relief. Nov 22, 2023

After a few months, still sensitive to loud noise and I have to wear earplugs when I go anywhere. Hoping to get a referral today!

Adventure of mowing the lawn today: using an electric mower and ear plugs, the noise was reduced enough that I could manage ^^

Had a second/rebound episode last night, aural fullness for a couple hours followed by moderate tinnitus for about an hour

Hearing feels back to normal I think? This episode was the worst I've had and I probably should get my hearing tested again.

Tinnitus receded, still have lingering hearing loss.

How bad is it? Also, any official diagnosis to it?
        Repairable or "permanent"?
(Permanent in the sense that there's no current fix).
In my case, I have both.
A perpetual Flashbang noise that changes in volume intensity for some reason I cannot explain.
I haven't gotten an official diagnosis yet, but wish I could.
Technically, the doc said ETD, but I know he knows nothing, lol.

This status is in reference to the most recent, bad episode I had a couple days ago with very loud tinnitus. I've had tinnitus off and on for about 13 years so I'd say it's permanent, but the hearing loss usually recovers after a few hours. My diagnosis is baro-challenged ETD resulting from a minor birth defect in the eustachian tubes.

Sounds like Meniere's if you lose hearing then recover it back again, then lose it after.
Wish it was like that for me.
At least glad you feel some normalcy for now again.
Get tested and you can get definitive results, specially if you are in your best self.
