Hi Red. Are you using earplugs/muffs frequently? Or is seemingly for no reason?

I do not use them frequently. Earplugs hurt my ears. Ear muffs I usually slip on for short periods of time, like when my microwave dings.

I believe your hyperacusis could benefit from some sound exposure therapy, the microwave beep for example. Try standing 15-20 away from it without protection, and work your way up slowly, foot by foot.
