    It looks like months after one's eardrum heals, T begins to fade and eventually goes away.

    Thank you so much for your kind reply, means alot!! I have also developed some kind of hyperacusis /ttts where my eardrum thumps and i will get burning pain throughout the day.. is this normal? My mild t is actually a minor problem compared to this :(

    TTTS (thumping of the eardrum) is normal and usually it does mostly goes away after about a year, and eventually it goes away completely. The burning is a rare symptom. I know of about four people who have had that. It also improves with time, but in my small sample it faded even slower than T and TTTS.

    I cant wait for all of it to fade...if i get rid of just one of these conditions i will consider myself the luckiest person in the world.

    As long as you don't inadvertently hurt your ears again, you ought to be ok.
    You will want to avoid taking ototoxic drugs, avoid microsuction or syringing (performed when you need to clean wax out of your ears; a manual tool should be used), and not let your dental hygienist use an ultrasonic scaling tool on you (a manual tool should be used). For more details, see
