My dysacusis has improved a lot over the past 4 months. It started off so bad that I couldn't even hear music from iPhone speakers over the distortion beeping. Now I don't hear too much distortion unless I turn the volume too loud, even over electric guitar & keep in mind I have pain hyperacusis much worse than your case. There's lots of room for healing.

At least I'm lucky that my pain (which was very severe and crippling, sounds over 50 dB sent unfathomable amounts of pain in my ears down to my spine) seemed to have cleared up in a few days maybe because of the prednisone treating inflammation. But it didnt fix my music. Sigh

@SadMan I'm 6 months in, it started improving after 2 od 3 months, but keep in mind that it's very slow process (at least in my case).
