    You need plugs that go deep into your ear canal so there is little space between the plug and your ear drum. So far, foam plugs have been the best for me. You may be able to get custom plugs made that go deeper, but my experience was even though I had deep molds made the plugs came back shorter and I get the loud occlusion with them.

    Not that I know of. All ear plugs sillicone or foam, gives me this effect :/

    @kingsfan thank you I will try some foam plugs @TheDanishGirl ergh it's so horrible isn't it! I ran across the road wearing them and immediately regretted it

    You just have to get them in deep. The ear canal is pretty long. It's not really the material that makes a different, just that foam plugs can typically be inserted farther into the ear canal than silicone ones. I put them in until I can barely pinch them with my fingers to pull them out.

    @kingsfan I have mine as far in as they can go and the occlusion effect is still bad

    If one has plugs custom-made, I know that one may get them shortened if one is a singer, so that one's own voice will not be too loudened. Maybe the same could be done to achieve the result you desire?
