Aleve is an NSAID which can cause ringing. I believe most cases with NSAIDS are temporary.

I hope so! I've taken Aleve for years with no problems. Looking at ototoxicity, it seems like you have to take it in high doses for it to be considered harmful, right? I just took two this morning and won't be taking more anytime soon. I've never taken it more than 2 a day, and I'm definitely not taking it every day.

I can understand that a bit more with something like that, which seems (I had to google it) more hardcore and not as common and widely used as Aleve. It still is ridiculous that one pill can destroy someone's ears though :(

I used to take Ibuprofen and Naproxen like candy. I stick with the lowest dose as possible of Acetaminophen (tylenol) now when I'm in pain.

I used to take a lot of Aleve as well, but no more after yesterday's spike! I've bought Tylenol now instead. It sucks that it doesn't do as much for my back pain like Aleve does, but hey, I'd rather my back hurt than my ears ring any day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yea tylenol doesn't work well on me either. Having some caffeine along with it should help its effectiveness.

Ohhh I did not know that, thank you! I usually only take those with caffeine when I have a migraine but will do when it's just regular other pain lol

Oh it might just be with headache, I'm sorry. My main reason for taking pain medication is usually headaches so it's just automatic for me.

Just saw this now and no worries! I was taking it for back pain. 25 but I feel like I'm 85 lol
