I suppose it’s just luck of the draw. My partner, for example, hasn’t been sick in the 6+ years we’ve been together. Yet I am sick all the time. It’s not fair, but that’s life hey. Anyway, I hope you’re okay @twa, you seem a bit up and down at the moment. x x

Your husband probably already has tinnitus but his brain is able to ignore it. If he searches for it, something I don't advise then he's likely to hear it. Then he will know how debilitating tinnitus can be as it will, get a lot louder. Be under no illusion your husband is playing with fire. Not being aware of the tinnitus at the moment has nothing to do with luck because it's already there!

@Steph1710 it was a hard week, thank you for checking on me. I'm doing better. Had a better day today. That's amazing that he hasn't been sick in 6 years! When I taught school, I was sick quite a bit. Now that I've been away from the school environment for 4 years, I only get sick seasonally. Do you think you have allergies that trigger other illness?

@Michael Leigh yeah, you may be right. I've talked to him several times about tinnitus and ear phones or earbuds. What worries me is that he allows my son to wear earphones. He thinks if it's low, it's ok. He also talks to people all day long on the phone for his job, so some days he wears earbuds all day and night.

@twa listening to earphones, earbuds etc at low volume will not usually cause harm. However, I advise to give the ears a rest and not listen for hours and hours. This is for people that do not have tinnitus. Anyone with tinnitus, especially noise induced, my advice is to never use any type of headphones even at low volume.
