@Damocles wisth that was the case, but with shitty Sinovac in my country things beg to differ, both me and my father got vaccinated and still got this shit.

Farida is suffering from a covid infection and you piece of shit anti-vaxxer @Damocles bring your petty comments to her profile post. comments that are not even based on mainstream health bodies. The vaccines are very good. Farida could have got even worse infection without the vaccines.

lol. Yeah, sorry, not convinced @Aussie Lea; don't see my comment as being any pettier than the behaviour I've
seen from people like you over the last 3 months, encouraging other people to get the vaccine and risk their lives so that you can feel a false sense of security.

"Not based on mainstream health bodies" doesn't even make sense, but I think what you're trying to say is: let's
ignore prominent scientist's opinions/warnings on the matter if they're not broadcast on CNN.

"The vaccines are very good". Yeah I suppose they are, if your idea of "good" is ineffective and dangerous.

"Farida could have got even worse infection without the vaccines". You say it like it's a fact. Funny thing though,
the co-inventor of mRNA vaccine technology doesn't agree with you on that, but I suppose you know better than him.

Also, I'm not an "anti-vaxxer", get sick of having to explain that so often.

very sorry to hear this, Farida

it's also unfortunate your wall is being used as a platform by someone who fundamentally misunderstands the science and, apparently my views on this. Also sinovac is not the same or nearly as good as the mRNA drugs

vaccines substantially reduce the risk of infection and serious disease; they do not eliminate it. Nothing is unique about COVID in this regard, except that the mRNA drugs are somewhat more effective than typical vaccines

Agreed, you are currently using @Farida's wall and you are also completely out of your depth as far as virology is concerned. Not sure why you felt the need to state the obvious.

"and, apparently my views on this."

It's called hyperbole. I am though, well aware of your views and they're not that much different; basically that mRNA vaccines are the magic bullet to "solving" COVID. Which they're not.

    "sinovac is not the same"

I'm well aware of the difference between Sinovac and the 2 mRNA brands. If you read properly, you would see I was responding to someone in Australia, where currently only mRNA and adenovirus vaccines are approved, hence why I was referencing mRNA vaccines, despite @Farida's being an inactivated vaccine.

"vaccines substantially reduce the risk of infection and serious disease; they do not eliminate it. Nothing is unique about COVID in this regard"

You don't know what you're talking about. All vaccines are not the same. C-19 vaccines are "leaky vaccines" thus less effective/protective. There ARE vaccines which can reduce infection rates to 0 for some fraction of subjects, known as "all-or-none" vaccines.

Again, mystified as to why someone is stating this as a fact. It's not. Nothing to suggest they're effective, full stop, or even safe for that matter.

You are currently a guinea pig in a mass experiment @linearb; guinea pigs don't get to conclude the results of an experiment, that's the scientist's job.

Get better soon, Farida! And I also hope that your father is gonna be okay as well.

@Damocles, could you move the conversation about vaccines to the appropriate thread and leave a PP which is about her being really sick alone?

@Farida if it gives you some words of comfort, I had Covid at the very beginning of it all last year. My breathing was so bad, I went into hospital. However, I came through the other side. It has taken months and months, but breathing is easier everyday now, so don’t lose hope yet. I sincerely wish you and your dad well. X

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, @Farida. My Dad also got severe COVID at the start of the year and was rushed to hospital unable to breathe - but he is fine now. Recovery took a while, but he is pretty much back to normal again. I hope your recovery is speedy.
