Wow, I wouldn't listen to anything that person has to say. Loud noises absolutely can increase T, and sometimes people commit suicide due to the constant torture, not because of depression, or if depression, then probably was brought on by the anxiety due to the T.
This makes sense to me, how could auditory stimulation that doesn't cause hearing damage cause an increase in T. But you see so many people in the tinnitus community say different. There is just such a big between what medical professionals say and people with T.
He likely has no clue about 3rd mobile window disorders, autophony etc. known to increase T., H. and even reactive disequilibrium from loud sound too...involuntary, often not even need to be loud.
I think it’s so easy to understand from a non scientific point of view. The damaged hair cells are further moved and stimulated by louder sounds, thus louder tinnitus. Seems so bloody obvious. Hence spikes. Or if the sound is loud enough it could further corrupt those damaged hairs and cause permanent tinnitus. Not necessarily more hearing loss but more disruption to the signals to the brain.
he don t even know our community - and isn t interested in it - Professor Gerhard Goebel is the number one here for Tinnitus in Germany since years - I am wondering - ok he had also good information in the keynote - but people who really suffer can t connect with it -
it is sad that the professional world ignore the really severe cases of Tinnitus - he said that habituation is the key für every T sufferer - and to forget about other therapies - nevertheless he is a nice guy - he invited me to have a long chat - I will see
I would say there's no way to habituate to tinnitus that has multiple sounds, very loud, plus varying in volume and changing the sound characteristics about every day if not more frequently. It sounds like he's thinking run of the mill mild tinnitus that most people have.
