Hey, nice to meet you all. I've been hearing a high pitched "eeeee" for the last two months without any relief.

Been reading around here since then but was waiting to see if it would go away. Still no sign of it getting better.

I can hear it very clearly when I'm at home, but it almost goes away when I'm out in public.

So yeah, it's comforting to read about others with the same problem out there. This thing can make one feel very alone at times.

I keep thinking something in the room, like my computer is making the noise. It's impossible to tell that the sound is actually internal.

You could wear earplugs or Peltor muffs indoors. If the sound gets louder, you have tinnitus. If you stop hearing the sound, then it is something in your room.

I have not had it checked yet, I probably should at this point.

It gets louder for sure. It's worse with a headset on and especially loud when I'm going to sleep.

Welcome, I had tinnitus for about 3 months now and it's just starting to quiet down so there is still hope for you. Also I agree tinnitus is very isolating most people have no idea.

Enjoy your stay at tinnitus talk.

Also do you have any idea what caused your tinnitus?
