I am having trouble getting a diagnosis here. Anyone know what is considered the best clinic for ear problems on the East Coast?

Mass. Eye and Ear in Boston, MA is world-famous and is host to some well-renowned doctors.

But don't go there expecting much, I've had two disappointing appointments there just this year so far.

Really? Why were they disappointing? I have more than just the T going on and I am already deaf in one ear. I heard that they had very state of the art equipment that could determine the cause of my ear problems.

You could try the hearing and balance center at University of Maryland Medical Center

You will get a diagnosis of "live with it".
There is no cure for tinnitus and there are no imaging devices or equipment that can really tell what's going on inside the inner ear (except maybe the LORETA eeg).
And if you're deaf, you'll be a golden opportunity for some hearing aid salesmanship.

I actually wanted a hearing aid but they said I couldn't get one b/c my hearing is normal (in the one ear). They said it would hurt my ear.

You are completely deaf in the other ear? Tinnitus in both ears or just the bad one?

I am completely deaf in one ear. The "good" one has tinnitus. I can feel the deaf ear vibrating with tinnitus at times but I can't hear any tinnitus in it.

Ah, sorry to hear that. I guess if you don't have any damage in your good ear, it's better to just leave it alone, the hearing aids would most probably be an overkill.
