Yes if you start taking drugs to cure it...

The drugs you will try to cure tinnitus with can cause dementia.

For example
benzos
antiepileptics
antidepressants

There is a correlation between untreated hearing loss and dementia, with the thought that the dementia is a result of social isolation.

 

Also insomnia from tinnitus can cause dementia.

 

Many of us suffer lack of sleep because of Tinnitus. Just be careful what you take to get your sleep.
