My mother asked me for help with something that necessitated going near her and I asked her to quiet down (which I do a lot).

She got angry and shouted for... probably less than a minute? Maybe two? Slammed her hand on the counter. My tinnitus seems to have spiked, could it be permanent? I was about 2-3 feet away.

      I’m hoping it’s just stress.

I got a blood blister on my toe from stubbing it just after, and just before there was a crying baby in Walmart, so today has been very hard on my nerves.

Thinking I’ve done irreplaceable damage to my already sensitive ears doesn’t help.

It seems like the spike has subsided, does that mean it’s unlikely I’ve done damage?

Just the clang when I pull out a cart is reason enough.
