Do Tinnitus Spikes Mean That My Hearing Loss Is Getting Worse?

      I had this fear for a long time but I do not know how substantiated it is.

      I don't think tinnitus spiking makes hearing worse although I can't be certain of this. I believe it can make tinnitus worse. Tinnitus can spike for a number of reasons. It could be that you have hyperacusis (sensitivity to sound) if this hasn't been treated or healed by itself then it can cause tinnitus to spike.       Cause of Tinnitus:
      loud noise and very bad sickness
      A spike can happen for many reasons. I believe a spike comes about when we shock ourselves or our body/ears. I don't think its fully related to hearing loss. Excitement/fear do a lot to tinnitus and the human body/mind....

      Now, if you go to a super loud spot and stay there for awhile, you could get a spike in your tinnitus as well....
