Ear Gone Wild After Call From ENT

Since a few months i have earspasms that come an go, sometimes gone for weeks sometimes a few times a week.
My Ent suggested an operation to cut the tensor tympani to help me with the problem.
Out of the blue he called me yesterday and said "i have good news ,i can operate you on friday" , i was a bit schocked but ok.
After that phonecall the spasms came back and went completely wild! i had more spasms last night then in all the months before!
Strange stuff!!!!

 

Have you tried supplementing your diet with magnesium threonate before launching into surgery?

 

Hi Deb , yes i use magnesium citrate for months now and like yesterday magnesium oil ,i took some extra sprays.

Please please do not have any surgery until you are sure that this is the route you want to follow. It cannot be undone as you know. Just because your doctor can fit you in suddenly on Friday please remember that you are not just something to fit into his schedule. Of course then if you are sure then go ahead but it sounds like the spasms may be due to acute stress or nervousness as per your reaction to the docs phone call.
I had spasms before but this seems to have gone away by itself.

So I am pleased to hear that you are doing things according to you! You have been pro activate in your own medical treatment. Well done! Make sure you ask all your questions and understand the answers totally before you have any surgery. However remember also that the doctor must tell you by law all the possibles that can happen which are kind of scary but that are extremely unlikely so dont please get too freaked out about that. I had this problem for approx a year after onset of T, it went away.
