      Hi everyone.

Im new on here. About 2 weeks ago I woke up one morning and while listening to some music on headphones it was like my hearing was at 12.05 instead of 12. It was more over to the right side of my hearing.

I went to the doctors he put me on steroids and I've been on them for the last week but it seems to have done anything.

I'm wondering what people here might think it could be?

The bass in my right ear now seems much more also then my left.

      Thank you

@Kindofgreen, was that SSHL? (sudden sensorineural hearing loss)? Did the doctor give you an audiogram?

No audiogram. I tested my hearing with app and its 22 to 17400 , its just my hearing is more towards my right side. It's very annoying listening to music.

Hi, I posted yesterday but thought best to post update maybe could get some help.

I did an audiogram test online my results were pretty much fine but a dip at 2k

My hearing problem isnt hearing things its that my hearing is to one side more. So when I listen to music where the snare and bass should be in the middle it's more to the right ear which is annoying.

      Any help?

      Thanks

Go to a proper audiologist or ENT and get your ears tested properly. Online tests are not very conclusive.

Hearing loss most likely. Get an audiogram done.

I have arranged for next friday! My right ear feels odd. Clogged but not clogged if that makes sense. My right too seems more sensitive to sounds.

Have you had problems with your ears in the past? Could be a build up of wax in that ear and/or fluid behind it, that said you'd proudly notice more hearing loss if it were to be either. Do you have any tinnitus at all, a low hum, ringing or otherwise? When mine began I experienced the exact same thing in my right ear. The doctor's first thought was MD or some sort of inner ear disorder, which I took medication for and it helped somewhat.

Never had hearing loss in the past. No tinnitus or low hum. I'm not even sure what ear is worse. Just seems like my hearing on my right is panned all the way right while my left ear seems panned not all the way left, Like Im hearing my left over my left eye if that makes sense, whereas my right Im hearing to my right ear.

Sounds like an inner ear issue if you ask me. Could be the fluid in your inner ear that side isn't balanced properly. If it persists and you see no possible obstruction both in front or behind the ear drum, ask your doctor about MD meds. They can be used in low dosages to correct an unbalance.

Yup. You more than likely don't have it as you'd know about it if you did (extreme vertigo, nausea and dizziness), but the medication I had for it can work for a number of different problems.
No problem. Keep me posted. o/

Believe me it does! It's hard to explain, I've been there and still am lol. The smallest difference with your ears and it's so noticeable.

I am indeed, though I'm coping much better with it now. I noticed it a few days after I noticed my tinnitus. I also listen to a lot of music and although I know many people who listen to it louder than I, I think I just got unlucky with it, that coupled with various other things that might attribute to it. (aspirin daily, stress, alcohol..). Though we can never be quite sure unless the cause is blatant eh?

Ah man, yeah that's totally cruel. Can't let it stop the things you enjoy though, else it'll slowly take over. There's still plenty of time for it to sort itself out yet though. :)

I'm not sure which ear is causing my hearing problems.

My right ear doesn't feel itself but when I listen to music on headphones all the music I hear more to the right ear then my left.

Does this mean my left ear is the bad one?

      Thanks

Instead of trying and failing to self-diagnose yourself, book an appointment with an audiologist and have your hearing tested properly with an audiogram.

Hi all, update on my hearing. Did the audiogram today. My left ear was mostly 5db and right was mostly 5 or 10

It's odd cos now my hearing is more to the left ear. I was listening to sub-bass stuff today and it was all going to my left ear. It was almost a little too much

The audiologist thought it could be coming from my nose seeing as I have constant sinus problems. So best see ENT he said.

I recenty have been suffering from hearing loss in my right ear

More so over the last month the bass has diminshed alot in my right ear.

It went from bass being more in my right ear to being more now in my left.

The audiogram I did was fine. So I'm confused what it could be.

When I was listening to an album yesterday with lots of sub bass it was like it was just going to one ear

meant to say my hearing under 250 I can hear bass when doing tests in earphones not as audible as my left ear but when listening to music it's like all the bass just sucks into the left ear.

Any advice. This is really messing with my days.

      Thanks
