      Bilateral ear infection
I'm Noelle. I am 46 years old and my tinnitus began in May after a nasty bilateral ear infection. It affects both ears and is a constant, high pitched ring or buzz type noise. It gets louder when I am tired. I also have chronic deep ear pain in my left ear. I have been to 2 ENTs so far, and neither can explain the t or the pain. I also feel as if there is pressure or fullness in that ear and it affects my hearing. Audiologist did state I have mild hearing loss, probably from chronic ear infections. I also still have tonsils and have had issues with those since I was 5. Any ideas or advice are helpful.

Thank you and nice to meet y'all!

I've lost faith in ENTs. They can't help if there is nothing visibly wrong in the ear.

Maybe you could have your tonsils taken out?

      Hi Noelle,

      Welcome to the site!

Has either ENT ordered any studies, ie. blood work, MRI? Wax build up?

Have you asked for a prescription for Prednisone (steroid)? Also, some folks recommend augmenting B12/Ginko intake. Others have tried acupuncture, exercise, and increasing blood flow to the ears (ie. standing on your head).

Good luck as you slog through this!
