      I don't know if this has been posted before. But I think this is an interesting article.

      Life is loud-er. Rakes have been exchanged for noisy leaf blowers and quiet restaurants are hidden treasures. Its rare to find a public place that doesn’t have music blaring in the background, and even people’s voices have become louder. Though everyone has their own threshold for how much they can tolerate, for those who have a low noise tolerance, navigating it all is challenging. How can you cope when the world is too loud?

      That is my impression too. )-;
      But I suffer from hyperacusis. So I am most likely not able to compare any more (pre and post hyperacusis)
