I Heard Silence Today :)

3.5 weeks ago I got severe tinnitus (sounded like someone was standing with an air horn on my left side) for no reason. Today I sat in my room and was studying and I noticed I could not hear my tinnitus. I started to look for it and found it again and now it is back to what it used to be.

But those 20 seconds of silence was golden!

 

Hi that happens to me sometimes too, I go check if it there and come back full blast. Do you think if we take Tinnitus from our memories we will be ok. Like re program our memory. What u think?

 

I wish it was gone for you but it's a great sign that your mind can put it on the back burner.

 

That's a perfect example of habituation.
The sound isn't gone, but your brain is tuning out.
You'll be fine and do really well in the future if you can keep this up.

 

Sometimes the sound can go away temporarily. It will happen to me for a few seconds here and there.

Right at that waking moment,when my conscience slowly emerges from sleep,
There is a wisp of sweet silence..........just before my tinnitus sounds it's beat.
And in this fraction of time, I'm reminded of what silence use to be.
I reach out in mind to pull it back, but sadly I'm awake with T.
