I Remember It Like Yesterday...

It's been 20 years since the accident took place. Despite no deaths, it ranks as one of the most horrific accidents ever in the history of skiing. The accident forced skier, Tatyana Lebedeva, into early retirement.

Accidents due to forces of nature are one thing, but accidents caused by the utter stupidity of a person really are difficult to reconcile. I think of it as a pivotal moment when so-and-so was born, or took employment somewhere, and events are set in motion that are going to wreck the life of another person and seal their fate. We live our lives totally unaware that we may be on a collision course with someone who is going to ruin it for us.

 

Yes... A crazy person on our way to work could decide to hit us in the head with an axe, from behind, without us realizing. Or we could be victims of the next mass shooting.

Overall

Life is full of surprises. Could end for any of us today.

 

That's what set off my tinnitus.
