Tinnitus can't be solved by drugs, even though Trobalt did lower his tinnitus from 8/10 to 3 permanently.

Tinnitus was not the reason why he killed himself. It was people around him who destroyed his hope for life so that he finally collapsed under the pressure of tinnitus.

So sharing his personal life is not a good idea, and the real reason is the family that did its all to kill his life or what remained of it.

 

I don’t know the details regarding his family, and I know he had problems with visual snow. However, I think we need to do this for Danny so that it doesn’t happen to anybody else. We can honour him by being vocal about what tinnitus can do to a person and help stop this happening to others as best we can.

We have to do more than talk.

 

I don't have much money either but I just donated too. @TheDanishGirl your above post inspired me to do so. RIP Danny boy, and big hugs to all other T & H sufferers...including myself. Kinda crying now. This condition is so inhumanely cruel.

 

Just messaged the guitarist from one of my favourite bands (CJ, from The Wildhearts), and he got back to me! Turns out he suffers as well.

Ed, thank you so much for sharing this. I am inspired when people were able to continue with their lives, including professional lives despite (non-mild!) tinnitus.

I’ve donated and I think Danny would be overwhelmed if he knew what we were doing in his name.

 

Haven't been here for a long time... As meds helped me to habituate to the tinnitus thing...

So was shocked and surprised when this news reached me via Facebook... Never talked to the guy but saw his willingness to help others and wasn't aware he had still major issues (with/due to) tinnitus.

 

RIP Danny Boy. You are missed.

 

Hello all, have to say I usually let this sort of thing go without comment just thoughts for that person as to me it can come across a bit me me me to comment if you get me.

Thing is I can't let this go, Danny Boy gone, that's really hard to take, gone, he was part of this group, a big part. We don't know the circumstances but if it's a possibility he could have been helped, it's too late. This is bad bad bad.

Hopefully there is another life somewhere and he's living it Tinnitus free.

Logged back on to pay my respects. Danny Boy was always responsive to my messages and posts when I first developed tinnitus in 2016. He was supportive and kind. I will always remember him for that, because those were dark times for me. We need a cure or at least a good treatment for this horrible condition that silently impacts so many of us..

 

Just saw this on Facebook and my heart skipped a beat. Logged back in after a long time just to reach out. I remember Danny bumping in my threads and just reading his posts throughout the years. Danny I really hope you are at better place now and that you have found that little piece of heaven for you. My condolences to your family and loved ones.
Rest in peace brother, you won't be forgotten here!

 

I didn't have the chance to get to know @Danny Boy but he was very active and helped a lot of people in the forums. Rest in Peace Danny.

 

Oh, so very sad. I hope you found a little peace of mind and a piecee of blissful silence finally Danny.. My heart goes out for his little girl left behind.

Didn't know him personally, but his posts were always useful and always had meaning. He was an invaluable source of information when tinnitus 1st hit me. Donated.

 

I have to admit the username didn't say much to me, but once I realized who it was (from the avatar, I remember those), it was kinda shocking.

I really hope he finally found peace.

For those of you especially @Christian78 - I understand your grief and pain losing your internet/facebook/TT friend Danny. A loss like this cuts so deeply into one's heart and soul. Very few (outsiders) understand the depth of pain. This grief will hit you in many ways.

The empty space inside your soul. The blank computer screen where you once spoke with Danny - the knowledge of his life and unhappy relations who hurt him in too many ways to count. This is for his young daughter to one day read and understand - her father's importance in our world. She will someday see how he helped so many of you despite his own horrible living conditions and personal financial situation.

Maybe create another thread and take time to grieve and talk with each other about the pain. This is so important.

Be patient for the fundraiser to get established and grow.

OMG! That is really sad to hear!

He was a really nice boy and he was the one giving me a lot of hope, when I first came on here 3 years ago. He had a very investigative mind and was not afraid to test things out and tell about it. Kinda like "Viking".

If you go back 2-3 years, you´ll even find the words "I love you" in some of my posts to him.

RIP Danny Boy. Jeez, this was sad . He really gave a lot of people hope!

 

I don’t think he would as he’s on a world tour at the moment. I’d feel awkward asking if I’m being honest because I know he’s a busy man and I don’t know him at all.
