I've had my tinnitus for almost 2 weeks that came all the sudden one night. I had a sinus infection. I started penicillin 12 days ago but that didn't work that well then I switched to augmentin which did help a lot, but after 6 days of augmentin there was still a little ringing in my right ear.

I woke up this morning to a new sound in my left, like a buzzing noise. I'm absolutely terrified because it wasn't there before I went to bed. I started taking prednisone in hopes of making it all go away yesterday too. Could that be it?

Any reassurance this might all go away?

Are you experiencing two sounds at the same time now?

Yes, right ear is a quiet high pitched ring, left is like a buzzing noise.

If the sound in the left ear switched from a high pitch ringing to a buzzing noise, then I think it is a good sign. When it is relentlessly the same sound, at the same volume, it appears to be less like possible recovery, compared to when it is changing...

Funny thing is it's gone now. I'm new to tinnitus, less than 2 weeks due to sinus infection. Hoping it all goes away :(

It might come back and go away, etc., but it looks like you will not be stuck with this for the rest of your life.

Youre doing great! I know its annoying and worrying at first, but trust me it gets better and you learn to deal with it. And the fact that youre still new to this and are young makes the possibilities of recovering or it getting so quiet you almost cant hear it ever is very high! Our bodies are at their prime and usually heal from whatever we throw at them.
