I've had my hyperacusis for a year and a half. It hasn't gotten better yet but I'm going through some measures now which may help, but noticing very little improvement for now.

took about 4 months to see some improvement.
No noisy areas and sensible use of earplugs was a must.
Now Hyperacusis bugs me rarely and I am going through my 6th month.

Becareful , be really careful at 6 months I virtually did not have hyperacusis, then I was a bit reckless with noise now it’s back worse than ever , even going to a concert with ear plugs , don’t

      Thanks for your comment.
I shouldn't have used was. I continue and will always continue to take care.
Noisy areas are still a no go and I continue sticking to other adjustments I made (absolutely no headphones, healthier lifestyle etc. etc.)

I don't know how to answer I noticed a big improvement the first month, but it lingered around several more months before completely going away a month ago.

Started out mild, then worsened verrry slowly it was insidious, then bam, hit a horrible setback that resulted in hellish H instantly, took more than a year to see tolerable improvements but I am not back to the baseline I had pre-setback and I don't think I ever will be.

This poll should have the up-and-down option.

I have never had improvement, and I have had hyperacusis for 23 years. That being said, I did not have a bad case of hyperacusis at first. But I have slowly deteriorated over the years so that now I am just barely into a mostly tolerable level most of the time, which, hey, is better than a lot of the worst cases. For the first 10-15 years, I could do a lot lot more than now, recover from setbacks faster, drive a car with windows up for 100 miles, usually no problems with faucet water, cutlery etc... No longer.

Mine started early last year and worsened for most of the year with TTTS too. Then earlier this year started to get better, then some set backs. Last 3-4 months massive improvements til last week it was almost gone and my T was extremely low too and had many days without spiking. Then a few unlucky noise incidences and it seems to be worsening again. T is zinging like crazy right now too.
