Hello All, I read many many interesting posts here, but as much I read I'm not sure if PT, a pulsatile tinnitus without a known cause, can maybe go away by itself at times!…

Does anybody know about cases where the PT went away as it came? Seems a legitimate question, or this kind of 'tinnitus' it's a condemn for life unless a miracle will happen?

I didn't read of no one case so far that PT went away by itself, which seems weird. Are sufferers not reporting successful cases of spontaneous healing?...

I wish all of you feeling better and being out of this affliction anyway.

PT can go away by itself. I had it for 8 months. It then disappeared. PT can be the result of infection. When this clears up the PT will go away. There are many causes of PT however - vascular, tumours etc which may not go away.

Thanks volsung37, I hope this will be the case. However, generally from posts I read, seems most likely it will stay in people, even without an evident cause, like a fistula, neuroma, tumors, vascular stenosis. So that if my PT will stay without disappearing, do I (we) have to assume that is of a vascular, tumors or other bothersome unfortunately undetected nature, or…?

I have PT,. 2 MRI's with contrast... No tumors, no infections,,.. Neurologist thinks MAYBE some inflammation,,, ENT doctor says no... Having CT scan in two weeks to check the bones in my inner ear because sometimes I get "clicks" .. hearing loss equal in both ears... Ive come to the conclusion that doctors even "specialists" know very little about this condition.. If they cant find the obvious cause.. they just start guessing. This condition effects so many people, you would think research would be more urgent, but since it isn't physically "life threatening" in most cases, its put on the back burner.

I get eye twitches periodically. Can be annoying at night trying to get to sleep.

Yes, I used to get eye twitches. I've had PT for almost seven years now, so a lot of those symptoms have gone away, although the PT remains.

Hi all, I developed PT after being treated for stones in saliva glands and that was 6yrs ago. I've never heard of anyone with tinnitus and it going away unfortunately.
