Recently, a few days ago, I started getting a random blaring tone in my left ear when I'm home for no reason. I think it's exacerbated by my light bulbs. When I wear earplugs it completely goes away, and it's bad to the point where it's so much quieter with earplugs.

Could it go away or get better? It's driving me nuts. Does reactive tinnitus improve? I have not had any increase or spike recently.

Reactive T? Do you have hyperacusia?

Just checking, I experienced exactly what you had when I had hyperacusia.

Invest in some LED light bulbs, maybe some high pitch is bothering you. Worth a look.

I thought it was another term for hyperacusis. Is hyperacusia something else? I can't find anything online.

Yes it's overall improving. It's definitely quieter these days though.
