So I have T from acoustic trauma and I just recently woke up with a fever and sinus infection. I've heard sinus infections can damage your T and make it worse so I'm really scared. Is there anything I can do?

      Try to stay calm.
A nose spray can help and steam inhalation might help you also.
Mucous linctus can help clear your tubes.
If you get a spike it should settle down so try not to worry ......lots of love glynis

Keep sound on around you and try not to worry as will make your tinnitus louder.
Do what you can distract yourself and keep your mood up by getting out in the fresh air....lots of love glynis

I had my first cold since onset last year just a few weeks ago. Having a spike during cold (and after) is normal since the sinus affects your ears and sort of block the ear. If you have been sick when you where younger, you may remember that it felt like your hearing was worse like you had something blocking the sounds. Now that you have T, the ringing will seem louder, like they do with ear plugs since it locks the sound "inside your head". Don't panic, it will make it feels worse. Just let the cold play out and if you have not felt any improvement a week or two after you have become completely symptom free from the cold, you can check with your GP to see if there are any sinus still lingering. Ears are the last part to get recovered from a cold so give it a bit time. To answer your question, I have not gotten a worse T and majority of the people here have not had it worsen either.

Get something marked for children or a prescription with Pseudoephedrine in it. (Have your parents pay attention to the correct dosages for someone your age. Don't drink caffeine with it and check for interactions with any meds you take).

Try to learn to control the muscles in your neck/throat that you can use to pop your ears easier in a more controlled manner.
This will take some work and time. Don't over do it though, once you have decent control over them, don't do it too often either. Take it steady.
One thing I would suggest when you do do it, try to exhale at the same time or immediately afterwards to try and suck some of that air out with the exhaling.

It might be worth getting some children's Flonase or Nasacort or a prescription nasal spray from your PCP. There is a correct way to use them. Google it or ask your PCP. There is a different method for Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, but it'd be careful about using the Valsalva Maneuver unless you have precise control over your technique in doing so. Because blowing too hard or doing it wrong can have some bad outcomes.

I'd avoid any Antibiotics except for Pennicillin, Amoxicillin or Keflex(Cephalexin).

Thanks guys, my fever has gone away and my ears feel a little bit less pressurized, I took a sudafed, ear drops, and even some T medicine from the pharmacy (even though that stuff barely works)

As well as increased T the sinus seems to have caused me a lot of hearing loss in my right ear, what I did to figure this out is rub my fingers by both of my ears, I can barely hear it with my right ear, and hear it normally with my left ear

Like I mentioned in my previous post, you will feel a bit wonky. In both pressure and loudness/tones. Stay calm and try to take care of the cold. The spike will pass away soon.

Yeah, and what's odd is that my T is almost completely gone right now (or at least it's changed into something not as raging and high pitched) I feel relieved but I'm worried about my hearing

What are you worried about? You just stated that T has lowered a lot?

I think i had some sinus ear infection which has now cleared. I woke up Monday morning to a blocked right ear which made the T rage. It only unblocked last night and now the T is back to how it was before.

I'm also going through the same thing right now. I have a sinus infection and it's making the T do all sorts of weird things. Sometimes it will make my ear roar, others it will cut back to normal... Causing me lots of anxiety...
