Hi guys, I have specifically signed on to this forum today to post this, in the hope that this will be your cure too. I have suffered tinnitus for some time, nothing worked until I had two sessions of Cranial Osteopathy and a session of Indian Head Massage.

My T is nearly gone after the combination of three sessions and this coincide with my own research and stories posted on this forum. For instance, this Daily Express story dated Jan 18, 2011 also cited the effectiveness of Cranial Osteopathy.
      http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/223738/How-a-head-massage-stopped-my-ringing-ears

Obviously T has complex causes which will be different to each person, however, I firmly believed that it is something to do with the function or dynamics of your head holistically and that's why Cranial Osteopathy and Indian Head Massage can definitely help.

Google them, find out more and give these holistic treatments a try. As my ENT specialists all say, tinnitus of course can be cured completely, you just got to have faith that it will be gone sooner or later.

God bless and I hope your T will disappear in no time.

      Best,

      Jeff

Congrats! I think I'll look into this after I see my audiologist and have tried some other options depending on what she says. Thanks!

What kind of cranial osteopathy did you try , I tried this once and the person hardly touched my head ?
Well, a bit but I wonder if that person knew what she was doing , does proper CO involve a proper "head massage" ?

Hi RaZaH, I just walked in a local osteopathy practice and asked for a cranial osteopathy session. Cranial osteopathy is a common alternative treatment for new-born babes but many adults have them too as a holistic therapy. I do feel that at times the 'head touch' is light, but I just trust the process. Markoana, the osteopathy practice that I attended is fully booked almost all week, so there must be some truth in it? In addition, I also combine it with traditional Indian Head Massage, which is a common spa treatment. It is more intense than cranial osteopathy with firmer touches. I believe it was the combination of the two treatments eventually cured my T. Good luck and get better soon!

      @markoana

Jeff369 is putting information out there that can give hope to some tinnitus sufferers....he is not saying it is a cure for everyone. Having been a therapist myself for many years, it is quite often alternative medicines/therapies that win in the end. As the saying goes "Nothing ventured, nothing gained.". Gwenx

@Ceroc I think u are missing my point.

Personaly, I respect alternative therapies, but my doubt concretely was about the article-lady that cured damaged (by bacteries or othotoxic) hair cells in inner ear with Cranial Osteopathy treatments.

I do not see any scientific, even logic way that it could be happened.

But Vice versa, Cranial Osteopathy could have great results in muscle spasm, jaw or similar problems that caused t.

Exactly, cranial osteopathy and Indian head massage are two holistic treatments, so it will be challenging to pinpoint the exact mechanism by which the Tinnitus is cured in individual cases. Maybe Tinnitus is caused or exacerbated by anxiety, muscle spasm, jaw displacement or bacteria/fungus infection (which can lead to muscle spasm, anxiety, jaw displacement etc…), and holistic treatment on the head can mitigate all these factors, of course depending on the individual. I would be extremely happy if 1 out of 100 people who read this thread can cure their Ts through these treatments and few more can lessen their symptoms. Good luck guys and be well!

Sure wish I could find someone to do an Indian head massage in my area but I'm in rural northern California and no chance of that being here. I just watched a video on this technique and sure liked what I saw. I am, however, going to an Osteopath in a couple of weeks. She said that cranial osteopathy isn't her speciality but she'd do what she could. Glad to hear that quite a few people were able to have very positive results with these alternative therapies.

I went for cranial sacral Therapy yesterday. Super relaxing. I have intermittent T and yesterday was one of my "days off".

It doesn't help T in my opinion, but I did enjoy it.

Nerve relief? I recall a study related to how some neurons gain pathways to where the damaged hair cells used to communicate. This could possibly help if those nerves are being activated because of stress or contortion.

I have pulsatile and continuous T in different tones. Tried cranial-sacral therapy with a trained physical therapist and cranial osteopathy at an OMT clinic. Neither helped at all.

Interesting to see this thread pop up... I always meant to give cranial osteopathy a try but never quite got there. Too busy trying other stuff and then decided to take a break (and save some money!) for awhile.

I probably will give it a whirl. But my expectation is it will be like acupuncture was for me: calmed me down and provided some drug-free relief, which is nice. But certainly didn't cure me.
