      Oct 2016
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      ear infection
Went to the doctor for a ear infection in October 2016, he gave me drops for anti bacterial, however found out from the next doctor that it was a anti fungal I needed and made my situation much worse.

Have had the ears cleaned out every 2 weeks and then monthly, though we had the infection under control the Tinnitus still remains and it seems to be getting louder. Sometimes it is deafening and I can barely stand it, would rather put a ice pick in my ear and be deaf then deal with this all the time.

Dr suggested that we may need to put in tubes to keep the ears draining but the tinnitus maybe for ever. I am using the sounds machines at night to sleep , doesn't seem to help much.

I am at my wits' end , anyone have any more suggestions ?

Getting enough sleep would be the first thing.
Melatonin or more long term a low AD for sleep.
Steam inhalation can help clear your tubes and Sudafed mucous linctus.
Use a extra pillow at night to keep your head more alivated to help drainage.

You may also consult this site for more natural supplements for sleep and calming:

Sound machines are good but may have limited selections of sounds that don't match your T and therefore not very effective in masking. If you have computer and speakers, you can try these:

      TT's audio player: https://www.tinnitustalk.com/audioplayer/

or this online sound library, particularly the self-mix nature sounds: https://mynoise.net

or download free sound generator ‘aire freshener’: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html

or search youtube with words like 'tinnitus masking sounds', 'white noise', 'rain sound' etc.

If you have smart phones, you can also download many free APPs with tinnitus masking sounds. The goal is to find some sound tracks that will work to mask your T well. Good luck. God bless.
