Tinnitus Is Just a Sound, I Will Not Give It My Attention

      Affirmation. I accidentally deleted it.
      Went something like this
      "T is just a sound, will not give it my attention etc."
      To be said four times a day
      Hope I can find it.

      if tinnitus was just a sound... we wouldn't be here. no offence but whoever said that need to re consider.

      er, I think you're sort of missing the point, here. The goal isn't to be in denial, it's to very gradually change the way that you consciously interact with the condition.

      Operant conditioning works. Corporations know it. Governments know it. There is a reason that superbowl ads cost millions of dollars per minute of airtime, and there's a reason that schoolchildren say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning.

      No one is suggesting that changing our conscious reaction will fundamentally change the signal that causes tinnitus perception. I think what's being suggested, is that changing our conscious reaction to the noise will fundamentally change our experience of it. This is in line with my own experience to date.
