anyone notice their T is worse in the evening? I can't figure out what this could be related to.. neck strain during day?

      Hi Mike,
The reason I believe you hear the tinnitus more in the evening is because you are less active & you hear it more b/c you pay more attention to it.
I hear in more when my day is coming to an end but I don't give into the noise & try & keep busy.

hi jess, at first i thought that too but i tried covering my ears completely during the day and the noise level is actually lower than evening. it also seems lower when standing than laying down. can't figure out what could be causing these changes

You could have fluid in your ears that are not draining properly.
Have you seen an ENT lately?

Yes, my T ramps up during the day. From bad in the morning to horrible in the evening.

I think the answer depends on a mixture of things: amount of sleep, stress/anxiety during the day, and diet for example.

Speaking for myself, getting a good night's rest is paramount. When I don't get enough sleep, I pay for it with a spike in volume. This coupled with stress (from work and/or commute) really amplifies it. But, I just refuse to let T into my life and I hold it at bay.

i see. so there isn't a real physiological reason that it could get worse towards the evening that anyone has been able to figure out?

I don't know anyone who figured it out, but I'm pretty sure there's a reason behind it since it seems so consistent.

Mine is zero when I wake up and it increases almost everyday in the evening. Could be a somatic T and related to neck muscles that are tired at the end of the day? Also, after a nap, it decreases to zero.
