I lay down with my little girl last night when she went to bed and I dozed of to sleep! When I woke up (few minutes later) I noticed the tinnitus in my left ear was really really loud ( like a loud dull ringing sound)! I didn't have this when I first put her to bed.

Just wondering if your tinnitus gets worse when you lie down or even go to sleep?? I had the same thing happen to my right ear a few nights ago ( I woke up at 3.30am and it was there.)

I also put cotton wool in the bad ear at the time or even put the tip of my finger in...not too far! Is this doing more harm than good? Don't want to end up getting hyperacusis...God I feel like my mind is going into overdrive

Interesting. A lot of tinnitus does this. Is it worse only when you sleep, or sleep and lay down?

Always seems worse to me, when I try to get to sleep, or wake up from sleep.

It's only happened twice @threefirefour (both was when I woke from sleep) and was obviously lying down. Its just weird because I was only asleep a few minutes and when I woke it was seriously loud!

I always find it worst in the mornings @monkey legs...i guess because it's silent! And when I notice it, it just gets louder and I have to get up
