      Hello.

I went to new dentist. After medical examination and seeing my CT scan of my jaw, he said, your T is from TMD and after one month treatment it will be ok.

A few months ago I went to my previous dentist and I've been told that you don't have any TMJ problem. So I'm confused. Also I've been worried maybe my T won't be cured because I have long time T.

Can anybody give me any info or advice. Thanks

Don't get me started about dentists. I know too much about dental practitioners. Suffice to say any promises about eliminating your tinnitus by therapy or surgery to jaw....take with a huge grain of salt. There isn't a single person on the planet who can say with any certainty your tinnitus will be eliminated with any single therapy or surgery.
TMJ therapies are tantamount to Chiropractors bilking customers for treatments that don't help either.
Buyer beware. No foul if non invasive of course. Your time and money and if you have a discernible jaw problem, possible at least your bite can be improved. Consider getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion if major cash outlay or any surgery however.
      Good luck.

For TMJ a mouth guard can be worn at night to take the pressure of your jaw joint.
It goes over your lower teeth and fit to your teeth after a impression has been done.
Also a few tips from a maxillofacial specialist..
      Don't over bite on Apple's,
Try not to yawn or chew him.
Cut meat up small so less chewing.
If you get pain take painkillers and try a warm or cold compress to help pain.
      .....lots of love glynis

I notice you are from Iran so I am presuming English is not your primary language.
We would need to know much more about your jaw medical condition...pathology of years past...symptoms...past treatments etc to make a better 'guess' about your condition. The fact you received two completely opposite opinions speaks to how 'subjective' different diagnoses are. Consider that some that want to work on you want your money or insurance money. The medical industry is a business.

Not only is TMJ and jaw related issues difficult to solve, but tinnitus associated with same is even a bigger unknown.
Again, quite possible your condition can be improved. I just want you to know that if somebody promises you your tinnitus will be cured by a given therapy to your jaw, that they are lying to you. They don't know this.

      @stophiss You right.
My jaw has a few Deviation to left (near my ear that has T). last year I had grinding my left jaw together for a week.
I did that just from habit. after that I sense my left ear had blocked in trains and cars.but I hadn't T.
I think two or three months after that very low noise had seen in my left ear. and grow up until now.
now When I have pain in my jaw and sometime headache.
My first dentist just do medical examination, not CT Scan from my jaw.
      (Sorry for bad English)

      Snow...your English is fine.
The thing that doesn't comport with what you wrote is...the one dentist you mentioned said you didn't have TMJ.
A CT scan isn't essential to diagnose TMJ. A decent clinician can assess TMJ by analyzing bite and putting a jaw through its range of motion.

Here's the thing. Assess what the cost of the therapy is going to be. Many dentists make promises, charge you money and don't help. So be wary of this. What Glynis writes is sound advice. Sometimes jaw issues are musculature and not completely structural. Mouth guards can help alignment...grinding of teeth and breaking this habit.

A 3rd opinion wouldn't hurt Snow. You have two dentists with two different diagnoses. Some day I may write on here about my mouth surgery which changed my life and damaged a critical nerve in my jaw which maybe an underlying reason for my tinnitus. Dentists can be very flawed. Some are brilliant and some shouldn't be in the profession.
More medical opinions if doing anything invasive in your mouth is the best advice I can give. Ask for the CD of your CT scan and go see another doctor or neurologist.
      Good luck
