Hello Everyone. I have noticed that when I yawn, the tinnitus in my right ear gets louder, but then goes back down. When I have been in a conversation with someone, after a number of minutes my tinnitus fluctuates up and then down, and sometimes when I am eating it goes up, and then with time it goes down.

Have other people noticed that same thing with their tinnitus?

Is this a TMJ and tinnitus connection, and can these jaw movements affect my recovery, or is it one of those 'it will heal when it heals things, I will just have to live with it' (I am only 2 months in - though it feels like 6 - and my tinnitus fluctuates from can't hear it to have trouble concentrating because my right ear is so loud)?

@John CC You and I have talked by PM going back to when you started posting. I had thought that your tinnitus was connected to trigeminal and facial nerves before you had mentioned a yawning problem. This can be a little different than just TMJ/D. Below is explanations that need to be narrowed down, but the telephone probably only ties in as a reactor. You did tell that you had gained weight and that will place pressure on the craniomandibular complex when bending forward. You had mentioned a sore neck and some stress and that could be part of the problem. I still think that a maxillofacial dentist can help.

Masseter myofascial relief, digastric muscle massage, and Sternocleidomastoid muscle treatment and control of forward head bending may all help, but consider seeing the dentist.

Update: It may be the last link has importance to your situation.
