      Hello guys!
i been having this T thing for about 1 month and two weeks so far... in my left ear (mostly)
but i havent find the reason of why this happend in the first place...
it appered out of the blue.. one day i woke up with it..
i wasnt exposed to loud noises in the last 48 hours (or more) i didnt hit my head or had another kind of trauma.

my T is constant, i might say its quite mild most of the time... like a hissing, or tv signal...
and when its bad its a high pitch that wont let me sleep..
(the other day i experienced PT but just for less than a minute)

      anyways...

-i have always listen to "loud" music, concerts, bars (maybe twice a month), sometimes i make music in garage band and i experienced a few spikes with the mic.

-i have candida ( a yest infection ) for about 7 years (ringing in the ears is listed as a symptom of this too)

-i have sleep apnea (makes the blood thicker and promotes inflammation)

-and before getting the ringing in the ears i been experiencing anxiety issues, for at least 5 months, my life was a living hell... because of this anxiety... and then T came.. (i feel like this might be the real reason)

      i been to two ETN...
one told me that i had a sinus infection, Eustacuan Tubes Dysfunction,( i been expericing ear cracking/pop and flu like symtpms) and this was creating the tinnitus...
i been taking steroids and meds (for about a month) (and i have experience very good days where i hardly listen to T 1/10) but then some bads days where i can hardy sleep or a i need to put some music on 6/10 (i havent need to put music or masking sounds for a few days)

yesterday i was looking for a second opinion...
and i went to aee another ETN, he told me that i didnt have any infection or Eustachian tubes dysfunction, that my problem was vascular, and that i need to take vascualar medication if i wanted to get better..
and if this doesnt work, then well have an audiogram ... (i dont seem to have any hearing loss to be honest..but who knows?)

now i dont know what to believe, or wich doctor i should listen to?
both are good and the seem very serious..

besides the steroids and medication for the rinitis
i been going to craneosacral therapy and i have found some relief...

      but my
      big question is....
what could be the reason behind my T ?

thanks for you attention, this forum is great :)

It is very likely due to listening to loud music, going to loud concerts/bars. Noise damage is cumulative, which is why, for many people, tinnitus starts out of nowhere one day.

This is what i fear the most, since i want it go away someday, but i have to be very open about this posibility
the one things i dont understand is that i dont have any "visible" hearing loss
      but it could be...

This could be both TMJD and ETD. You need to see a TMJ specialist too then

Why aren't you seeking a doctor instead of asking these type of questions to some random guys on the internet?

You want my opinion? You need to let it go. Your tinnitus will most likely be there with you for the rest of you life, and you have to face that. There is no reason to spend a lot of time and money to find the cause, when most t cases goes unsolved. I'm talking from experience. Try the best effort to ignore your tinnitus, and go on with your life. If it in fact goes away, great, but in the mean time, keep yourself busy. I wish you best of luck.

Hello! yes i did went to two different "good" ETN in my city
and they have different opinions about the cause and the solution.
thats why i was asking you guys based on your stories and experiences.
but you do have a point, im trying to keep busy, having a great time with friends, family and dog.
if it never goes away at least im still enjoying life.
in the bright side i can listen pretty well and i can mask the sound very easily (most of the time)
      thank you for your reply.

The thing about hearing tests is, for the most part, they only go up to 8k, while human hearing goes up to around 22-23k. So, you can have a "perfect" hearing test up to 8k. but have hearing loss in the very high frequencies. Our hearing is naturally "damaged" as we age regardless, but is easily damaged prematurely by things like loud noises, medication, a virus, etc.

Whether or not it will go away is a hard question to answer. I've seen a lot of anecdotal evidence that seems to say it can go away within the first 2 years. Just the other day, I saw one person on Reddit say theirs went away in 10 months, and another in 1.5 years. And even if it doesn't go away, there are many treatments being developed. So, unlike what ceauses97 says, it's unlikely that you'll have it for the rest of your life.

      Thank you Jason!!
this is a very postive reply.
well yeah, im not sure if i did loose hearing at a higher frecuency.
its weird cause i have met people who lost hearing because of medicine or other issues
but still... they dont experience tinnitus, its weird.

of course i want it to go away and all, but im very aware that this might no simply go tomorrow...
so im trying to cop with it.
and right now i just wish it was just eustachian tube dysfunction so i could properly working on getting better.

      thank you :)

I had T a couple years ago for 7 months don't know why, but it went away on its own after messing with my jaw and this January it came back in both ears. Mild like yours and I have ear popping when I swallow. I'm going to an ENT again tomorrow for the popping. Good luck man! I'm sure you will be ok. If it does go away please come back and let us know!

I also think he needs to stay busy but everything else you've said is wrong - there are cases where T goes away and they are not rare.
