Curious what the potential price of future treatments could be.

Also, please be honest. Is your tinnitus so bad you're willing to pay $10,000 or more for half reduction? 10k is a lot.

Half reduction is also a lot. I would take a loan if need be.

Personally I agree. But that also depends on how loud your tinnitus is. If it's mild then half reduction isn't much. If it's loud then it's quite a lot.

I'm in the unique position of having spent more money than your scale allows and actually have worse tinnitus than when i started. That said if i was down to my last dollar i would still fly to some s**t hole third world country and let a backstreet 'doctor' carve out my kidney with a rusty fork if someone dangled a cure in front of me..... God what we've all become.

How much would I pay or how much would my insurance pay? Is it a guaranteed, permanent reduction? Is it a one-time fee or a cost spread out over years of treatment?

Given the cost of specialists, advanced testing, therapists and hearing aids — $10,000 does not seem that high. My multiple MRIs added up to that last year; fullly covered by my insurance.

What is half tinnitus reduction - exactly?
I suspect that after paying a large amount of money, my perception would play a trick on me for at least a few days, because I wish for improvement so much...

It depends what "reduction" means, my T is not very loud in terms of DB but I need a PITCH (/intensity?) reduction!

If there was a cure that puts the noise down by 50% I would save and slowly try to get to my goal. There is no doubt in my mind. I think this question is silly. Who wouldn't pay a lot of money to stop suffering?

I think a lot of us would pay much more than 10k$, especially those of us who haven't children/ close family.
      Health and peace are priceless.

For me is 1 year sallary (after exchange) but I will take a loan with pleasure.

They can have 10 % of my income for the rest of my life if they can cure tinnitus. And because of my own building company that's a lot of money.

There is no exact limit. I can not pay much anyway ... Even the "mute button" is out of reach.
I'm sure it would not sacrifice the welfare of my family.

There is such a small % of T sufferers on this site. I do not think it would matter :)

My T is manageable and I don't need a decrease. What I would like is a prevention method that stops tinnitus from getting worse so that I can go to restaurants, movies, weddings, pretty much any fun social outing, etc. again.

And no, I can't just wear earplugs. Reactive T and hyperacusis just don't care about ear protection. It spikes no matter what.

Or a treatment that reduces hyperacusis and/or reactivity by 50%.

It's funny how everyone's T is different. I swear I have hyperacusis and yet the rolling off of highs/transients from sticking napkins/tissues in my ears is enough to allow me to get through noisy restaurants or movies. It's a rather low-tech solution and yet because I jam them in neatly with nothing sticking out, it's not that visible to bystanders, (especially if I use the recycled beige napkins that are closer to skin-color). I hate doing it and having to explain to people close to me that I'm doing it but I've been doing it for so long that it's second nature. So it's not so much the noise sensitivity that degrades my quality of life, just the ringing.

This. I have moderately loud (very hard to mask) multi tone T, but if I could guarantee that no noise would make it worse for the rest of my life, I would take that over a 50% reduction in tinnitus.
