I went to an ENT and it's definitely not an infection. I was listening to music at the time and had enormous stress at the time it happened. So it might've been a combination. Or maybe just noise induced.

The acoustic trauma happened with iPhone earbuds below 100 percent and above 50 percent of music volume.

Though what I'm wondering is... why is it not loud as others here?

I can't answer your query, all I would say is how very lucky you are if it's not loud. Some days I'd literally give my right arm for quiet ears.

And I envy your strength. I doubt my capabilities to withstand it.

Do you want it too be loud??

You really don't. Mine got louder after seeing a show on boxing night, not fun at all.

      Hi Mike,

You pose an interesting question that no one on this site can accurately answer because science nor medicine has the answer either - yet.

Hopefully, your tinnitus will not become louder. In any event, the best thing you can do now is to protect your ears! Good luck!
